Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Mrs. M. D. 77 years old lady came to 'Ayurveda' clinic on 28/3/09 with a large swelling below it. Jaw (sub mandibular lymph node) since 5-6 months. The swelling was painless and showed gradual increase in size. There was no difficulty in breathing or swallowing. There was no hoarseness of voice. Patient was known diabetic and on regular medication.
Earlier biopsy was performed on 4/12/08 and was diagnosed as NHL (Non- Hodgkin's lymphoma). The chemotherapy was started along with Ayurvedic medication on 29/12/08. After 2 cycles, chemotherapy was stopped because of intolerance and severe weakness.
Then the patient decided to continue only with ayurvedic medication. Dr. Bendale explained her ayurvedic line of treatment and gave her a good moral support. The patient was improving very significantly. After almost a year, heamogram, urine report, kidney and liver function tests were carried out on 10/09/2009. All investigations were within normal limits. The cervical lymph node was regressing continuously. The general clinical and symptomatic condition of the patient improved.
Ultrasonography of abdomen and pelvis was performed on 08/04/2010 which didn't show any abnormality. The ultrasonography of neck was also carried out on 08/04/2010 and there were no enlarged cervical lymph nodes on both the sides. Other routine investigations were also within normal limits. The patient is still on ayurvedic medication and is leading a very good quality of life.
A recent CT scan was performed on 22/02/11 which does not indicate any sort of abnormality. The credit of success in treating this case goes to the proper scientific approach by Dr. Bendale as also the faith of his patient. |
